Hobbit Houses Where You Can Binge Watch the New Lord of the Rings TV Series on Amazon Prime

Lord of the Rings enthusiasts rejoice! Not only has the countdown begun to LOTR prequel series The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime Video, but it turns out you don’t need to travel all the way to Middle Earth (aka New Zealand) to immerse yourself in a hobbit hole.
These are some of the most fun and funky Shire-inspired cottages, treehouses, and off-beat rentals in the region – the perfect place to watch the upcoming TV series.
1. Cozy Hobbit Cabin in McKinney, TX

This Airbnb went to great lengths to simulate the full hobbit hole experience, raising the bar beyond just a round front door to also include a round bed, round bathroom door frame, and even short five-foot-six-inch ceilings in some areas of the house (tall Gandalfs beware!). Chickens roaming the backyard and climbing ivy trellises complete the Shire-level idyll.
2. Hobbit Treehouse near Bastrop, TX

What could be better than a hobbit hole? A hobbit nest. Of course. This treehouse in the Lost Pines Forest is a woodsy glamping location eight miles from Bastrop State Park’s trails and ten miles to the Colorado River and kayak rental and Bastrop’s restaurants. Decorated with a custom tangle of branches arching around the door and round windows, this rental will transport you to Middle Earth in no time.

3. Extensive Hobbit Hole in Rogers, AR

This is the perfect hobbit hole to book for a big group. Housing five bedrooms and sleeping up to 16 people, this impressive earthen abode was built by the owners themselves. Inside you’ll find hand-packed and hand-painted walls, massive indoor plants that are naturally watered by recycled rain or shower water, and two wood-burning stoves. Outside, you’ll see a large pool, outdoor shower, and, of course, that prominent circular front door.

4. Elf House in Weatherford, TX

This treehouse near the banks of the Brazos River seems more of an elf’s hideaway than a hobbit hole but I’m not here to split hairs. Either way, there’s definitely an ethereal vibe going on. Pass the “Warning, Gnomes at play!” sign, cross the drawbridge, and enter into this cozy forest refuge. There are many activities to partake in close by, from collecting your own eggs at the barn to enjoying the nearby waterfall to building tiny fairy houses for forest pixies.
