At first, Nashville was going to be the star of this story. Thanks to low taxes, a thriving job market, and comfortable cost of living, the Tennessee city’s real estate market is booming. And that goes without mentioning its top-notch hospitals, world-class dining, and stellar music scene.

But after reading the New York Times story about homeowner Hayley Williams, lead vocalist of the band Paramore, I was hooked. For so many reasons, this home rocks.

Let’s start with the home itself. The recently renovated, 2,137-square-foot, Cape Cod-style spread is located in Nashville’s sought-after Hillsboro Village and is within walking distance to tons of shops and restaurants. The asking price for the three-bedroom, two-bathroom pad is an even $1 million. Donna Brevard of Zeitlin Sotheby’s International Realty holds the listing.

But don’t expect it to stay on the market long.

According to a RE/MAX National Housing Report for May 2021, Nashville is one of four metro areas with the lowest days on the market — 12.

Highlights of the home include a green front door leading to a white-walled living area with an arch-shaped fireplace. Off to the side, the dining room sports a blue and white-patterned ceiling. The first level also features a windowed kitchen and home office.

On the upstairs level, a quirky primary bedroom has two seating areas — one next to a set of windowed doors and another, cozier one under a peaked ceiling. An adjacent primary bath sports funky geometric tiles on the floor and walls, along with a clawfoot bathtub and standing shower.

But truth be told, what we love most about the house is its back story.

The home served as a creative inspiration for Williams— she recorded her second solo record, “Flowers for Vases / Descansos” at the property.

Digging a little deeper into the Grammy-winning singer’s background, we learned even more about her tortured marriage, struggle with depression, and challenging relationships with her Paramore bandmembers. But that’s only a sliver of the story. Later songs encompass self-empowerment, romantic sparks, female solidarity, and simply thriving.

William’s solo music reflects her personal journey. Watch on You Tube.

From the start, Williams collaborated with a close friend, photographer Lindsey Byrnes, who served as creative director and helped her with the many visuals — including videos directed by Warren Fu — that give her music vivid dimensions. Along with the evident nature metaphors, one of the recurring themes is cinnamon, which refers to Williams’s cozy home and inner world — femininity of her own construction. We promise, her story is a must-read.

But back to the property at hand.

No doubt about it, Music City is hot.

“People are moving here from New York, Los Angeles … Nashville is very affordable compared to some of those expensive coastal cities,” says Redfin Chief Economist Daryl Fairweather.

“The out-of-town pressure on our market is huge,” adds Jeff Checko, Relocation Director at RE/MAX Advantage. “Out-of-town buyers are accounting for most of our sight-unseen offers right now.”
