“Strange and Sexy”: Sandra Bullock’s Sierra Towers Hollywood Condo Lists for $4.495 Million

We all know Sandra Bullock as one of those celebrities we’d love to hang out with. By Hollywood standards, she’s approachable, real, unpretentious. But we Texans have a special affinity. After filming Hope Floats in Smithville—a town of 3,500 on the banks of the Colorado River—the actress rented out her Hollywood Hills home and headed to Austin.
At the time, writer Skip Hollandsworth penned a 1998 piece for Texas Monthly calling Bullock “feisty, quirky, flirtatious, and always utterly disarming.” Fast forward 20+ years. In the past two decades, America’s sweetheart movie star has amassed an impressive real estate portfolio—including a celeb-pedigreed 1,759-square-foot unit in Los Angeles’s star-studded Sierra Towers. Asking price: $4.495 million.

Located high above the renowned Sunset Strip, the condominium skyscraper is known as LA’s “strangest and sexiest” building. For good reason. Uber-famous residents flock to the property for its “jaw-dropping views, sharp midcentury architecture, discreet staff and prime location,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Just who are we talking about? Current homeowners include Adam Sandler, Kelly Osbourne, Courteney Cox, PJ Harvey, and several billionaire business moguls. The list of former residents is equally impressive—think Cher, David Geffen, Lindsay Lohan, and Joan Collins, to name a few.
And did we mention that Bullock’s 22nd-floor unit was formerly owned by “Friends” star Matthew Perry who purchased it from Elton John in 2005?

Represented by Joshua Greer of Hilton & Hyland and Alan Long of Avenue 8, the listing touts the for-sale apartment as “one of the most valuable and desirable in the entire building.” Highlights include a spacious living/dining area with floor-to-ceiling glass walls. An open kitchen features custom cabinetry and chef-quality appliances.
And then there’s the views. Nothing short of spectacular, the unit overlooks the Pacific Ocean, the downtown skyline, and everything in between. Building amenities abound, from round-the-clock concierge to fitness center, sauna, and communal swimming pool.

Buyers don’t have to count out running into Bullock in the elevator.
The actress still owns a 1-bed/2-bath Sierra Towers condo on the 20th floor, purchased in 2017 for $5.1 million. That’s in addition to her myriad other properties: a pair of Malibu waterfront homes, a Tudor-style mansion and mid-century bungalow in Beverly Hills, a compound in Jackson Hole, a New York City townhouse, and a Gothic Victorian National Historic Landmark in New Orleans.

Apartment 2206 is located at 9255 Doheny Road, West Hollywood.
