One of America’s greatest singer-songwriters, Bob Dylan, has decided to sell his Scottish mansion in Cairngorm National Park. The estate, known as Aultmore House in Nethy Bridge, is an Edwardian Country manor completed in 1914.

Dylan, 82, has decided to sell the meticulously maintained Scottish estate with broker Knight Frank for offers in excess of £3 million ($3.9 million) because he has not been able to visit since the COVID-19 pandemic. The property has 18,357 square feet that encompass 16 bedrooms — each with views of the garden — and 11 bathrooms.

The home has seen many updates, including significant renovations in 2007 and 2008 that brought the wiring, heating, and water systems to modern functionality while being conscious of the estate’s historic details.

The home’s foyer features a limestone staircase with a wrought iron balustrade capped with a wooden stair rail. Aultmore House has several formal areas such as a dining room, sitting room, drawing room, and billiard room — all with fireplaces. The home also has a lounge, sunroom, garden room, a basement with store rooms, a workshop, and a coal cellar.

The estate includes 25 acres of landscaped grounds with gardens, fountains, statues, gazebos, and three cottages. The home, which has been featured on BBC’s “Monarch of the Glen” series and has been recognized for its architectural and historic relevance, has also hosted weddings and events.

Gairngorm National Park, the area in which Dylan’s estate is located, is a haven for birds, with views of forests and mountains on the horizon. The area is known for great outdoor activities, as well as Scotland’s premier fishing area — the River Sprey. Scotland’s Whisky Trail starts not far from Aultmore House, and several other castles are located in the vicinity. Nethy Bridge is also a popular stop for tourists, with plenty of local culture.
