Airbnb Summer 2022 Launch: Find Epic Stays in Unexpected Places

Share News:

Airbnb just launched several new features just in time for what is predicted to be one of the busiest travel seasons ever this summer.

There is no doubt that the pandemic has drastically changed society’s relationship to work and travel, and Airbnb has been quick to facilitate this shift. With a dramatically increased number of remote workers, many are finding the opportunity to take extended trips and work from different locations.

Along with a new extensive travel insurance program (called AirCover) and a new streamlined way to book more than one Airbnb on one trip (called Split Stays), one of Airbnb’s most exciting features is additional Airbnb categories. There is something for everyone, with stays grouped into categories like design, off-the-grid, and places with chef’s kitchens. This feature allows travelers to discover epic Airbnbs in locales that they may never have thought to look at before.

For example …

Design in Ohio

Who knew such a charming A-frame cabin could be found in the woods of Rockbridge, Ohio? This new build is perfect for a restful getaway or a change of scenery while working remotely.

Castle in Texas

Burnet County, Texas, is the unlikely site of a full-on Bavarian castle. There are 14,000 square feet of pointed arch doorways, artwork, and even an interior jacuzzi in the primary bedroom.

Island in Montana

Montana may not be the first place you think of when you think of island life, but this Airbnb will expand your horizons. This one acre private island on Flathead Lake comes along with a beautiful two-level home, a motor boat to zip to shore and plenty of kayaks.

Treehouse in Georgia

Upon first sight, you may assume that this beautifully-designed and cozy treehouse is nestled in the middle of an enchanted forest somewhere. In actuality, it’s located in a leafy neighborhood halfway between downtown Atlanta and the airport.

Bed and Breakfast in Washington

This Victorian bed and breakfast is full of personality and well-placed on the shore of Similk Bay in the Pacific Northwest. Not only is the hospitality personalized and thoughtful (like any great B&B), you’ll enjoy quick access to the ferries of the surrounding islands off the coast of Washington.
