What does $85 million buy you in Los Angeles’ tony Beverly Crest neighborhood? For starters, a 21,000-square-foot mega-manse with every imaginable amenity. But this palatial masterpiece also comes with more than its share of notoriety. Turns out, it sits on the same land where the Manson clan murdered Sharon Tate and four others back in 1969.

Current owner Jeff Franklin, creator of the TV sitcom “Full House,” assures potential buyers it’s not a problem. The association is “irrelevant” and “ancient history,” he told the Wall Street Journal. “It’s had absolutely no impact on my life whatsoever.”

The original home on the property was demolished in the 90s. (Curbed, Los Angeles)

Actually, it was a completely different house. Back then, the property’s address was 10050 Cielo Drive. But in 1994, real estate investor Alvin Weintraub razed the house and changed the address to 10066 Cielo Drive to distance the estate from its somewhat shady past.

Franklin bought the 3.6-acre property for $6 million in the early aughts. He tapped starchitect Richard Landry to mastermind the multi-cultural showplace.

“In addition to Asian and European influences, “there’s a lot of California Casual, and then we add SeaWorld.”

By that Franklin’s referring to the home’s six aquariums — and yes, one of them is a shark tank.

An aquarium separates the main living and dining areas.

According to the uber-wealthy TV exec, the aquariums were inspired by his passion for scuba diving — one reason, we’re guessing, he’s headed to Miami.

Records show Franklin has already spent more than $48 million assembling land on South Florida’s exclusive, man-made Venetian Islands. (An investment so high that “people were putting up statues of him as thanks for how much he had driven up the area’s property values,” he joked.)

The foyer sport a grand spiral staircase.
Extraordinary views overlook the city.

But back to the mansion he’s leaving behind. “The Cielo estate is the epitome of world-class Beverly Hills luxury living,” touts the listing. Not surprisingly, agents for the property are Josh and Matt Altman of “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles” fame. (Check out the very Hollywoodesque Vimeo.)

True to its Andalusian style, the exterior sports a custom-painted, blue-domed rotunda.

Opulent Franco Vecchio-designed living spaces feature coffered ceilings and arched doorways. Retractable glass walls offer sweeping city views. There’s also nine bedrooms and 18 bathrooms including an ultra-luxe primary suite.

The huge primary suite includes every amenity.

“I’ve got this giant TV that comes out of the ceiling and then disappears when I don’t want to watch it,” Franklin said. “It’s got quite an amazing Balinese-style ceiling, and an indoor Jacuzzi in the bathroom that’s like a swimming pool.”

And speaking of swimming pools, there’s a 75-yard, resort-worthy one outside.

It comes complete with three waterfalls, two hot tubs, a swim-up bar, and a 35-foot water slide. And did we mention the private grotto, koi pond, and lazy river?

The pool and outdoor area rival any luxury resort.

There’s more: think movie theater, spa, gym, hair salon, billiard room, and subterranean garage that can accommodate up to 35 cars.

Realtor Josh Altman told the WSJ he believes the property is priced to sell. “The entertainment aspect of this house is untouchable by any other house in L.A., except for one other place that I have partied at: the Playboy Mansion.”

10066 Cielo Drive, Beverly Hills, is listed by Douglas Elliman’s Josh and Matt Altman.
