Splurge vs. Steal: Ventura Hillside Homes

Ventura is one of the few remaining pockets of the Southern California coast that is still somewhat affordable. Not for long, though.

Home to plenty of families and young professionals, the beach town is steadily growing. The town boasts a generally laid-back vibe with lots of coffee shops, parks, and several good surf spots. Ventura is located about halfway between Santa Barbara and Malibu.

Splurge: Secluded Ocean Views for $1.79 Million

Less dramatic ocean views and an overall more simple style. But to be fair, you can still spot the ocean and Channel Islands from the upper-level garden area.

The remodeled house’s style isn’t too shabby. Sure, there are some light fixtures and tile patterns that you may want to replace, but those shouldn’t overshadow the hardwood floors and quartz countertops. Is it worth the Steal? You decide.
