This is a house with serious pedigree. We’re talking A-list celebrity cred. Frank Sinatra leased it in the 50s and 60s. Lucille Ball, Ava Gardner, and Judy Garland partied here. And as turns out, even the guest house sports a back story. Marilyn Monroe was a frequent tenant and shot some of her famous last photos at the pool.

Originally built in 1951 for Chase Manhattan Bank heiress Dora Hutchinson, the pedigree suburban Los Angeles compound was designed by Pereira Luckman AIA—the same architects behind LAX’s iconic Space Age Structure. “The spaces are immediately impressive thanks to the distinctly mid-century construction, large floor-to-ceiling windows, and elegant courtyard that boasts a stone walkway leading from the driveway to the front door,” according to Architectural Digest.

Others may recognize the sprawling 8,161-square-foot property from Mad Men’s 2008 The Jet Set episode.

It popped up in season two, playing the Palm Springs home of some well-to-do friends of new-to-L.A. Don Draper. Or maybe you caught it in a myriad of other movies (Dreamgirls), TV shows (Californication), and music videos (Usher’s “Burn”).

Income generated from shoots has exceeded $2 million annually.

“Perfect for the use of filming, it is one of the most sought-after locations in Los Angeles,” touts The Agency listing. Current asking price for the compound: $21.5 million.

“The home is simultaneously a great fit for those looking for privacy or those looking to host—its private gates and nearly three mile driveway a comfort for the former, and its massive outdoor space and 100 parking spots a boon to the latter,” says AD.

Situated on 1.325 acres in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley, the seven bedroom, nine bathroom Chatsworth property features panoramic 360-degree views. Other highlights include a 50-foot pool, 2,000-square-foot pergola lounge area, gymnasium, and massage/steam/sauna area.

The Chatsworth, California compound is being offered with adjacent parcels of land, leaving plenty of room for further development. Listing agents are Craig Knizek at The Agency and Barrie Livingstone of Sotheby’s.
