Ever dream of escaping to a deserted island? Ask any Texan. Last week’s frigid temperatures had us all longing for a sunny respite. And it only takes $35 million to turn the fantasy into reality: Faith Hill and Tim McGraw’s private Bahamian Island is currently on the market.

This is the kind of place that inspires a term like “heaven on earth.”  The popular country duo literally developed an entire “little town” on the small island, also known as Goat Cay. Readers of Architectural Digest may remember that the highly-covetable property graced a 2017 magazine cover.

In the article, McGraw and Hill said the Bahamas property was “just a little shack” when they purchased it in 2003. They replaced the modest structure with a collection of eight “pavilions” connected by open-air walkways set around an inner courtyard.

“We set out to build a house. We had no idea we had to build everything else,” said Hill.

Turns out, they basically had to create a little town. The project—which needed a fresh-water supply and electricity—took almost a decade to complete.

The only way to get to there is by boat or seaplane. But once you make the trip to L’île d’Anges — meaning Isle of Angels — expect “a safe haven paradise, providing perfect tranquility, nestled within pristine turquoise waters,” according to the Knight Frank listing.

The island itself covers close to 20 acres. Almost 1.3 miles of water frontage sports two white sand beaches, a private dock, and two yurt-style guesthouses.

The 6,517-square-foot main residence sits on the highest part of the island. According to Mansion Global, the white-stucco manse resembles “an Ibizan farmhouse fused with local Bahamian elements.” Dazzling whitewashed walls give the main entrance a theatrical Mediterranean vibe.

An open-plan great room combines the living, dining, lounge, and music areas. Glass walls lead to a sunny terrace complete with swimming pool, loggia, cabana, and covered eating/entertaining area.

An ultra-luxe primary suite has its own outdoor soaking tub. Three additional bedrooms have ensuite baths and private patios equipped with lounge chairs and daybeds.

The grounds are equally spectacular—think palm trees, lush lawns, colorful foliage, and a courtyard garden. An observation bell tower provides sweeping sea views.

Listing agent Edward de Mallet Morgan called L’île d’Angess a ready-to-move family property that blurs the indoors with the outdoors.

“It has pollution-free natural beauty. The Exumas runs through the Atlantic Ocean, but it very much has the feel of the Caribbean,” he says.

Over the years, the island oasis has served as a spot for Hill and McGraw to unwind from their busy lives with daughters Gracie, Maggie, and Audrey, reports People online.

“We’ve been all over the world, and we really wanted to create a special place we couldn’t find anywhere else,” Hill said of the Bahamian paradise.

Her husband added, “Every time we land the plane and walk onto the beach and head up to the house, we turn to each other and say, ‘This is the best place in the world.’ “
