Doug Gibbs, Director of Resident Services over at Long Cove, tells us he is gearing up for the most active spring season ever. EVER. And he means that literally because The Toy Barn — remember that? — is filling up with athletic equipment of all kinds. From Lacrosse to biking and baseball and fishing, there is enough gear in this the fanciest of “toy barns”for everyone in the family! That means at least an activity or two per family. And the golf clubs are on order.
But if athletic activity doesn’t float your boat, well, the Coast Guard Auxiliary sure will.
“Beginning in the Spring, we will be offering a Boater Education Course instructed by the Coast Guard Auxiliary,” says Doug. “This is a great course for new boaters and is required by Texas law for all boat operators born after 9/1/1984. For Boat Club members, it will be required for all authorized “Captains” from each family.”
Doug says Long Cove is near completion of the initial offering for the members Boat Club.
“We are working through two final questions regarding risk management and entity structure,” he says, “but anticipate having the club’s operating documents and final pricing for review within the next 10 days.”
In order to initiate the club, Long Cove needs commitments from 10 member owners and believes they have that in place.

If you are spending your spring break in Long Cove, well, we are jealous. The new golf “Proving Grounds” is complete and will be ready for play in the Spring, like any day now. But the tennis court, sport court, kid’s playground, and the initial loop of hiking trails will all be ready this Summer. Long Cove is expecting an exciting season ahead! So gear up!
