Timbers May Very Well Own the Fractional Market, Adds Mayacama in Sonoma to Private Residence Club Portfolio

The stakes just got higher in the super competitive, high end fractional private residence club market. I told you about El Corazon de Sante Fe joining up with the unbeaten Fairmont Residence Club program. Have been at both El Corazon and Fairmont Ghirardelli Square now and really didn’t think it could get any better. In fact, in a few weeks we will be bringing Fairmont Ghirardelli Square right here to Dallas — stay tuned!

But Carbondale, Colorado-based Timbers Resorts just upped the ante by adding Mayacama, Sonoma’s award-winning 675-acre golf and private residence club, to the company’s portfolio of resort destinations. And what a portfolio: The Timbers Club in Snowmass, Colo.; Esperanza in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; The Rocks Club in Scottsdale, Arizona; Castello di Casole in Tuscany, Italy; The Preserve at Botany Bay on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands; One Steamboat Place in Steamboat Springs, Colorado; The Orchard at The Carneros Inn in Napa, California; The Villas at Rancho Valencia in Rancho Santa Fe, California; Doonbeg in County Clare, Ireland; The Sebastian in Vail, Colorado and, Dancing Bear Aspen in Aspen, Colorado. Ownership at one of these properties means you can trade spaces at any one of these properties: I’ve been to both Rancho Valencia and The Sebastian — thumbs way, way up!

Fractionals start at $350,000 to $595,000 for, I’m guessing, the larger 3,000 square foot villas. I know sales were a bit slow at Mayacama last summer, I hear things have now picked up and this move ought to make sales sizzle:
