Are George Michael and Kenny Goss Cheating on Dallas?

Share News:

George Michael and Kenny Goss just plunked down big bucks, like $6 million,  to go down under — in Australia, that is. As far as I know, they still have the Highland Park palace house, which they got after selling their Vendome high-rise in 2006. There are other homes, too, like the one in Highgate, London. According to my angel Mama:

“In addition to their house in Highgate and now this new hideaway in Australia, Mister Goss and Miss Michael own several other homes including a 16th-century house in Goring, Oxfordshire that’s about an hour due west outside of London and just a hop skip and a jump over the Thames river from Spice Girl Geri Halliwell’s house.”

I have a question, excuse me. Where do these guys get all this money?

Mama asked for my take on Highland Park –here’s what I said:

“an uppity ‘hood that Dallas -based real estate gossip Candy Evans told Your Mama is, “very classy, stodgy, Republican, safe and rich.”

Agree?

Anyhoo, this purchase seems to be granting Mr. Michael a license to nookie way down yonder, if ya know what I mean. I swear, you buy me a house that looks like this and buy me multiples, you can go nookie with Ben Franklin for all I care. (Just don’t bring home any diseases.) But Mama, who broke the story far as I know, says the house is divine and swears she’s seen it published before. Somewhere. George Michael is a rather naughty boy who rose to pop music fame and fortune in the 1980s as one half of the British duo Wham! In the late 1980s, he launched a solo career that spawned a number of hit songs such as Freedom! 90, which included a video that helped merge the music and fashion industries by featuring Amazonic supermodels Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Tatjana Patitz and the other worldly Christy Turlington. Last number one hit in the U.S. in 1991: Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me with Elton John, and in the U.K. in 1996 with Fastlove.

With all those homes, the sun may never set on a George Michael property. OK, you must read Mama’s description of the new 3500 square foot, 5 bedroom, 5 and two half bath home we think he paid $6 million for. But you must also read this because this is SO THE ULTIMATE of what second homes are all about:

One wonders, of course, if this property purchase in Australia is merely some sort of real estate lark of a rich and famous person or if Mister Michael–and Mister Goss–actually intend to spend more time bumming around the beach in Australia. If it’s the latter, we expect the house will be back on the market in six months time. If it’s the former, Your Mama would like to offer Miss Michael and Mister Goss our house sitting services because there’s little better we can imagine than whittling away a few weeks by a swimming pool in the southern hemisphere with little more than a chilled pitcher of gin & tonics, a tall stack of gossip glossies, the New York Times crossword puzzle app on my iPhone and perhaps something divine by Joan Didion to remind us of home. Can you hear Your Mama Miss Michael? Because we’re being serious like a heart attack so give us a ringy-dingy.

Where is the $$$ coming from?!?! ROYALTIES!!! There are still singers with ONE top song that are wealthy from royalties… He's had a ton. He is mega-rich. Don't let the fact the last hit (WITH ELTON JOHN, no less) was in '91. Hear a little cash register bell ring every time you hear a George Michael song. And that's a lot of bells. Plus his DVD sales, downloads, videos… He's not hurting. And they own one of the biggest YBA art collections IN THE WORLD.

lets not forget George had a massive world tour a few years ago….and it sold out large arenas across the globe.
Most of us can't begin to understand how much money most famous people have….George Michael is no different.
    He's swimming in cash.

The article about the new house is fine…but really…"where is all this money coming from?"
    stupid question

But I got you thinking! Can you imagine what it would be like to be swimming in cash? I love what you said, "most of us can't begin to understand how much money most famous people have…"
Maybe we should play a game of pretend!
